Hard and Holy: Wisdom

God can speak through people, yet they don’t speak above Him. We have had people we would trust with our lives, who are deeply in love with Jesus, speak plainly what they’ve sensed/heard from God about what we should do- advice on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. There are a million voices, and we can always find one to support how we *feel* that day. There’s only one Truth. And while it’s important to listen to wisdom, it’s important to think critically and act cautiously, it's imperative to obey Jesus as the Name above all Names, the one Way, Truth, and Life. 

People (ME!) are so quick to want to give advice. And it’s important to share wisdom, it’s important to share experiences, it’s ok to give opinions, but it’s imperative that the ultimate exhortation and advice I give is to go to the Father, because He is the only one who truly knows all and can make straight the crooked paths. 

 

Human wisdom (which is still wisdom) comes from age and experience; spiritual wisdom comes from proximity to the Father. God put leaders in place of His people who were anywhere from 8 to 800. Their age wasn’t the deciding factor in their wisdom and ability to lead; it was their hearts turned towards Him.
